Peeved

Chalk it up to me being me, but I really hate when people say "two thousand AND eight," instead of, "two thousand eight."
When someone says it, I want to ask them if they said "nineteen hundred AND ninety four" or "nineteen hundred ninety four?"

People say "nineteen oh eight" so shouldn't they say "twenty oh eight"?

I like two double-aught eight, though I never think to say that. I think saying twenty-whatever won't really catch on till we get to twenty-ten. Then no one will have to feel clumsy when they don't know what to do with the oh.
